PNG TO PDF
PNG to PDF Page Size: A4, Letter, Fit to Image, and Margins
When you convert PNG files to PDF, page size controls the shape and physical layout of each page. Choose a standard sheet when a form or printer asks for one, or fit the page to the image.
Use A4 when the destination requests it
A4 is a common paper size in many countries. Select it when an application, office or print service asks for A4. The PNG remains an image on the page, not a vector document.
If the image and page have different proportions, blank space may remain around the image. Check the orientation and margins so the important content stays easy to read.
Choose US Letter for Letter-sized pages
US Letter is a standard page size used in the United States and some other workflows. Select it when the recipient or printer requests Letter. A4 and Letter are close in size but not identical, so use the requested size when you have one.
If a website only says “PDF” and gives no paper size, check its help text or upload preview before choosing a preset.
Fit to image follows the source shape
Fit to image is useful when you want a page based on the PNG rather than a preset paper sheet. A wide screenshot can remain wide, and a tall scan can remain tall.
This option does not make the picture sharper or add missing detail. The pixel dimensions of the source still set how much image detail is available.
Set orientation and margins
Choose portrait or landscape based on the page content and selected page size. Use the margin control to add space around the image when it should not reach the paper edge. Larger margins reduce the area available for the image.
For a form or scanned page, verify that no text or signature sits near an edge that could be clipped by a printer or viewer.
Review transparency and page count
Still Studio makes one PDF page for each PNG. Transparent pixels appear white in the PDF, and text inside a PNG remains part of the picture rather than becoming selectable text.
Open the saved PDF and inspect every page before sending or printing it. Confirm the order, page shape, margins and visual clarity.
Choose settings from the job requirements
If you are submitting to a portal, use its current instructions. If you are printing, ask the print provider about page size and image resolution. A generic preset cannot guarantee acceptance or print quality.
